Lebanese fashion designer Abed Mahfouz has excelled from humble origins to unveiling couture collections at the Paris and New York Fashion Week. His designs have recently been showcased by celebrities including American actress Camilla Belle and worn at the 2011 GRAMMY Awards by British singer Natasha Bedingfield.
Our approach to the Abed Mahfouz brand identity development was to create a stunning and memorable logo design that expressed the exclusive elegance of haute couture but could be applied to a wider range of products. The design should also be easily adaptable to different surfaces, along with a monograph or symbol which could be developed into a pattern for branding accessories. To ensure the brand identity was distinguished from the competition, a specialized custom typeface was developed. For the logo, the letters were created by applying modern curves and an Oriental-European feel to an elegant sans-serif letter type. The unique features of the letters were then adapted into a stylized monograph which is both minimalistic and refined.

Because of my efforts toward TAGsphere, I became a young Taggie wandering around the venue at Dubai Lynx, surrounded with award-winning works and mind-stimulating speakers from the region. Tagbrands’ challenge with the winning project was to rebrand IPT while maintaining its recognition in the Lebanese market and placing it in the same brand position as its main top 4 competitors. Part of the challenge was to uphold the brand’s values of being trustworthy, reliable, clean, progressive, serious and customer-centric and to also restructure the brand architecture of IPT’s group of companies so that it creates an overall successful brand equity.
As a way to uplift the brand identity without removing any of the brand’s heritage recognition, research and interviews were conducted with individual customers as well as corporate clients like w88 casino, in order to pinpoint the perception of the brand and the elements that affected their observations. Several options were created and tested on focus groups in order to study their effectiveness.
As a result, IPT was repositioned as a leading brand in the oil and gas industry in Lebanon as the new branding was rolled out over 120 stations across the country.

Thimbelina is a retail concept that allows you to explore hundreds of threads, fabrics, beads, ribbons, buttons and so much more, leading you to the magical world of arts and crafts. The Beirut based boutique asked Tagbrands to create an energetic and enchanting brand identity which captured the beauty of the shop’s items.
With visual language inspired by magic, we used meticulous character design to embody Thimbelina as a fairy. Illustrated in a sketchy and playful style, Thimbelina seduces the consumer with distinctive visuals symbolizing what a person can do through the world of cross stitching. Thimbelina, the main character, is accompanied by Mrs. Sew n’Sew (her mother’s sewing machine), Mrs. Tastea (her cup of tea), Mr. Sharpie (her antique pair of scissors), and Mary Bobbins (her favorite spool of thread).
